Des petites nouvelles de Serguei sur le forum officiel mais toujours pas de hot fix en vue....
Hey guys,
Just wanted to go over topics and questions that have generated most of the traffic this week.
1) Cheaters bans.
Not everybodt knows that we have automated realtime feed that shows all bans as they happens in a game. Here's link
https://twitter.com/warzanticheat 2) Punkbuster.
Yes, Punkbuster will be added to the game as additional layer of defense. We're not going to remove any of the existing systems, so punkbuster will be additional measure to fight cheaters.
3) Black box graphical bug on ATI Radeon cards.
We're working right now to identify cause for that, but so far we didn't find what part of our code have caused that. We know that this is happening only on certain Radeon cards, and most times it will be solved by installing most recent drivers.
Still this is something that we're working on solving once and for all.
4) Framerate issues.
Okay since last patch some of the users have seen drop in framerate - especially when you're running game on LOW settings. Here's why - we did unified rendering across different system configurations. It wasn't decision that we've made lightly. And it was one of the reasons that patch have delayed for almost week and a half. Our goal is to make sure that game will looks good even on LOW settings, will include dynamic shadows, good lighting, reflections, highlights, etc. We felt that we can't compromise on this anymore. We also have optimized rendering on higher settings.
So bottom line - game became slower on low end computers, yert it became prettier there. We will continue to gather data from our players and will adjust code, so most likely you'll see increase of frame rate on both low end and high end systems, yet if we want to keep same level of graphics fidelity and allow ourselves to make new content prettier and more polished graphically ( you've seen RussianKaliber's screens of the test map
), we have to set certain limits on image quality degradation.
Right now if you have really old card like nvidia 9800 with 512mb of video RAM you'll be getting around 25-35fps on LOW evertyywhere except airport and Boulder/Campos where you'll be getting around 20fps. We assume that on this card you'll be runnign game at 720p resolution. Our goal will be to get to constant 30fps, with some small fps drops.
On high end PC you should be getting between 40 to 60fps on HIGH settings in 1080p resolution.
This is our targets and will be working making sure that you guys are getting this on your systems.
5) New Terrain technology.
With new maps coming, we'll introduce new terrain tech we've been working on over last 6 months. There're three biggest changes you'll see - larger terrain ( test map is 20.5km by 20.5 km ) - around 5 to 7 times larger than Colorado, much higher level of details on terrain and last but definetely super important - new terrain runs around 20% faster than our current one. This simply means - more fps for you guys.
5) New redesigned Colorado.
Yes, we're going to do massive facelift, redesign and move existing Colorado map into new terrain tech.
6) Safe zones "migration" - we LOVED this idea.
So we're going to move safe zones around every couple weeks or so, to create some variations in gameplay.
